Professor Kamran Munir
Professor of Data Science
University of the West of England
Professor Kamran Munir is an internationally recognised researcher and Professor of Data Science at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), United Kingdom. He leads the Data Science Research within the Computer Science Research Centre (CSRC), where his work spans Data Science, Big Data & Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
His research portfolio includes major strategic projects funded by Innovate UK and the British Council, alongside collaborations with global industries. He has made significant contributions to CERN and European Commission projects, leading research in Data Architecture and advanced Information Services. Most recently, the project partnership led by Professor Munir won the African Agriculture KTP Award for pioneering work in applying data-enabled innovation to transform livestock farming in Nigeria.
Prof. Munir contributes actively to leading international conferences and journals, plays a key role in academic leadership at UWE Bristol, and leads the Community Action & Knowledge Exchange (CAKE) initiative, fostering partnerships between academia and community sectors.
